Alt-rock favourites The Rubens are kicking off the 10-year celebrations of their career-defining, gold-selling album Hoops with a one-off intimate performance at Oxford Art Factory on Thursday 19th June. The night also marks the beginning of OAF’s 18th birthday celebrations, giving fans a rare chance to catch The Rubens up close in the Gallery Bar. Originally released in 2015, Hoops propelled the band into the spotlight, growing a global fanbase and landing them on major stages across the country. From huge moments on mainstage at Splendour in the Grass to headline shows at iconic venues like the Hordern Pavilion and Margaret Court Arena, the album cemented The Rubens as one of Australia’s most compelling live acts. The self-titled single Hoops became a defining anthem, topping triple j’s Hottest 100 and marking a milestone moment in their career. This special show is the first of many celebrations planned over the coming months, as The Rubens gear up to release brand-new music from their highly anticipated sixth album.
