GOryanGO Biography
Winston-Salem based rock outfit GOryanGO is set to release their new EP titled One Step Closer on October 6, 2023. The collection of six skillfully crafted songs finds the band playing stronger than ever, which is a considerable feat given that they were first formed in 2007.
The soundscape is set as the album opens with frontman Matt Weiser’s jangly 12-string guitar and kicked into full gear when Brett Ryan’s drums signal for the band to join. Backing vocals provided by Christian Ryan, bassist, and a soaring guitar solo delivered by John Richardson promise from the first track - an open-wounded apology titled “Sorry” - that the group is presenting an all out showcase of a band completely united in their efforts and inviting the listener along for the journey.
Songs of introspection, reflection, idealizing what may be forthcoming and optimistic takes on life’s challenges comprise the themes of the songs included here. From the lead single “I Still Need You” to the curtain drop of “Better Than Me” there is an accessibility to GOryanGO’s music and lyrics that allow one to place themselves in each song.
